Free Vein Screening March 28
Do your legs hurt or swell at the end of the day? Do you have varicose veins or spider veins? Did a parent or grandparent suffer a blood clot in a leg or lung? If you fit any of these descriptions, or someone you know does, that may mean you have a vein-related (venous) condition, called chronic venous insufficiency. In some cases, it can be related to a serious condition called deep-vein thrombosis, or DVT, that can lead to major problems.
To help at-risk people find out if they might have venous disease, the CVC will have a free screening event on Friday, March 28 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Diagnostic Vascular Unit. If you think that you or someone you know might have or be at risk of vein-related problems, call 734-232-4460 to sign up for a free appointment to have an ultrasound examination of the legs, and to speak to a doctor who specializes in vein health. Space is limited.
This screening is sponsored by the U-M Section of Vascular Surgery. For more information on vein disease, visit www.vascularweb.org.
