Stephanie Diccion-MacDonald is the director of Nursing and Patient Care Services for the Frankel Cardiovascular Center and Internal Medicine. In this role, which she has held since 2000, she oversees the nursing clinical and financial operation of 300 inpatient beds and the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) program.
 
Diccion-MacDonald has held staff nurse positions on acute, intermediate and critical care units, including on the Critical Care Medicine Unit at the university from 1986-1993. She was an education nurse coordinator as well as adjunct faculty with the University of Michigan School of Nursing, overseeing the clinical experience of students in the intensive care units. She was an assistant head nurse, interim head nurse of the Trauma Burn Center, and later clinical nurse manager on the Critical Care Medicine Unit from 1995-2000. She received her nursing diploma from St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in 1985, BSN and MS in 1989 and 1994, respectively, from the University of Michigan.
